OpenAI has unveiled its highly anticipated Sora model, designed to generate high-quality videos. During a livestream on Monday, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman announced that Sora is now publicly available. Starting today, the feature will be accessible exclusively to ChatGPT Plus and Pro users in the U.S. and select other countries, excluding the UK and nations within the European Union.
The Sora Turbo model is the first offering of its kind from OpenAI, empowering users to create videos effortlessly. The service is tiered based on subscription levels:
• ChatGPT Plus ($20/month): Subscribers can generate up to 50 videos per month in 480p resolution (or 720p for fewer videos).
• ChatGPT Pro ($200/month): Pro users enjoy up to 500 videos per month at high speed, with unlimited videos available at standard processing times.
All Sora-generated videos come with C2PA invisible watermarks, and visible watermarks by default.
This launch marks a significant expansion in OpenAI’s suite of generative AI tools, setting a new standard for accessible and innovative video creation.
